Acupuncture consultation
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture involves stimulating specific points on the body with fine needles, with the aim of improving health or relieving pain. Rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, it takes the whole person into account.
At CYMED Medical Clinic, Alexandrine Lebeau, an acupuncturist and member of the Ordre des acupuncteurs du Québec, offers whole-body and facial acupuncture: from body to face, each treatment is tailored to your needs. No medical referral is required.
What happens during an acupuncture appointment?
Time to understand your needs, followed by a treatment tailored to your situation.
Welcome and discussion
An opportunity to discuss your needs, your health and your lifestyle habits, such as sleep, digestion or stress, with Alexandrine.
Assessment based on traditional Chinese medicine
Alexandrine completes her assessment according to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, then suggests an approach suited to your situation.
Needles and complementary techniques
Fine sterile needles are inserted at specific points on the body or face. Depending on your needs, moxibustion, cupping or acupressure may complement the treatment. You can share how comfortable you feel throughout the session.
Individual follow-up
The number and frequency of sessions are discussed with Alexandrine, based on your needs.

Whole-body acupuncture
A holistic approach that considers the whole person. Alexandrine welcomes a diverse clientele, with needs such as hormonal and menstrual health, digestive issues, sleep, stress management and neurodivergence support.
Facial acupuncture
An approach that brings together facial care and overall well-being. Facial acupuncture aims to reduce facial tension, such as bruxism, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and to support blood and lymphatic circulation as well as the tone and balance of the face. In traditional Chinese medicine, the face reflects one’s inner state, so each treatment is approached holistically. It is essential to arrive without makeup for this treatment.
LED light therapy, microcurrent and microneedling
For facial treatments, Alexandrine can combine traditional acupuncture with modern technologies, based on your needs: LED light therapy, microcurrent and microneedling.
Moxibustion, cupping, acupressure and gua sha
Traditional techniques that complement the treatment based on your needs: moxibustion (moxa) stimulates points with heat, cupping applies suction to the skin, acupressure stimulates points with finger pressure, and gua sha massages the skin with a smooth tool.
