Biography

Member of the Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec (OPPQ) · M.Sc. Physiotherapy, Université Laval

A graduate of Université Laval in Quebec City with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in physiotherapy in December 2022, Geneviève has been practising physiotherapy for more than three years. A former figure skater and soccer player, she has experienced several sports injuries herself, which led her to discover the positive impact that physiotherapy can have on returning to activity.

From the very start of her career, Geneviève had the opportunity to join the McGill Sport Medicine Clinic, where she continued to develop her expertise in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. She also had the privilege of serving as head therapist for the McGill University Martlets women’s basketball team over the past three years. This rewarding experience took the team all the way to the national championships in the winter of 2026 and allowed her to support high-level athletes with their injury prevention, rehabilitation and return to play.

Throughout her practice, Geneviève has had the chance to work with a very diverse clientele. While she regularly works with athletes and physically active people, she equally enjoys working with older adults who wish to maintain their independence, improve their mobility, or regain confidence in their movements. She also enjoys working with children aged 7 and older as well as adolescents, to optimize their return to sport. She likewise appreciates working with people who have had a concussion. Her goal is always to help you better understand your ondition, regain confidence in your abilities, and reach the goals that matter to you — whether that means returning to your daily activities, getting back to sport, or simply moving with greater ease and less pain.

Geneviève continually pursues her professional development. She has completed two manual therapy courses, Lower Quadrant 2 and Upper Quadrant 2, from the Association québécoise de physiothérapie musculosquelettique avancée (AQPMA), in addition to specialized training in vestibular rehabilitation.

When she’s not at the clinic, Geneviève likes to stay active too. She devotes her free time to running, strength training, ultimate frisbee, road cycling, as well as alpine, cross-country and backcountry skiing. She also loves spending time outdoors hiking.

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is an evidence-based approach to care that aims to restore movement, reduce pain and optimize physical function, taking the whole body into account. At CYMED Medical Clinic, our physiotherapist provides personalized care tailored to each patient, combining manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and education to support mobility, strength and healing.

Patients commonly seek care for sports injuries, neck and back pain, sprains and tears, post-operative or post-fracture rehabilitation, tendinopathies, concussions or balance disorders.

Whether you’re recovering from an injury, preparing to return to sport, or simply want to move with greater ease and less pain, physiotherapy offers a safe, active and personalized approach.

What a consultation involves?

History & discussion — Your physiotherapist will ask about your symptoms, history, lifestyle and goals to understand the root cause of your concerns.

Physical exam & movement assessment — A review of your posture and movement, and an assessment of your muscle strength, flexibility, balance and the movements specific to your activity.

Treatment & manual therapy — Using manual techniques, targeted exercises and education, your physiotherapist helps relieve pain, improve mobility and support the body’s natural healing process.

Personalized advice & exercise plan — Your physiotherapist will provide advice and a home exercise program, along with guidance on load, progression and prevention to support healing and prevent re-injury.
